God’s Promises

Confessing God’s promises:

As we ‘circle’ God’s promises over our lives, we can have confidence in our prayers because of the promises in His word:

Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.
Mark 11:24

For no matter how many promises God has made they are YES in Christ.  2 Corinthians 1:20
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him. 1 John 5:14-15

God’s promises in scripture:

Anxiety and Worry:

I am strong, courageous and firm; I fear not and am not in terror, for it is the Lord my God who goes before me; he will not fail me or forsake me.  Deuteronomy 31:6

In the day of my trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me. Psalm 86:7

Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.  Matthew 6:31-33

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:6-7

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

Authority of the Believer:

As a disciple of Jesus I have the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever I bind on earth is bound and whatever I loose is loosed.               Matthew 16:19

God has given me authority and power to trample on serpents and scorpions, and physical and mental strength and ability over all the power that the enemy possesses and nothing shall in any way harm me.  Luke 10:19

Children:

Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Faith:

We walk by faith, not by sight.   2 Corinthians 5:7

A man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified.   Galatians 2:16

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.  Galatians 2:20

By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.  Hebrews 11:1
